University enrolment for 2nd sem surges by  6%

Unfazed by the usual downward trend in the number of enrolment every second semester, Filamer Christian University's student population significantly increased by 6% from the first semester's 5,133 to 5,167 the following semester.


Despite the decrease in the collegiate enrolment due to the implementation of the senior high school program,  contributory to the considerable rise in the overall student population is the opening of FCU's extension classes at Garcia College of Technology in Kalibo, Aklan this second semester wherein a total number of 61 students enrolled and pursued their master's degrees both in business administration and in teaching.

According to the University president, Dr. George O. Cortel, it is the first time after so many years that the total population of the University breached the 5,000 mark since the first semester of this year and escalated by 6% in the second semester.
